Parry Projects showcases the fun, inventive and impressive creations made by our students and staff. Take a look at what we’ve been up to!

Vertical Gardens

Our new vertical gardens have completely transformed the front courtyard at Parry. Students worked together to design, cost and build these fresh installations, replacing the older pallet gardens created by past classes that had reached the end of their life. Once built, the students planted them out with trailing greenery and vibrant plants that brighten the space and make the area feel welcoming for both students and visitors. Adding more green spaces around our school is important to us, not only because the gardens look great, but because connection to nature supports mental health and wellbeing.

NAIDOC Week Apparel

During NAIDOC Week, students had the chance to choose their own fabric and create personalised bucket hats. The activity was a fun and meaningful way for students to express themselves, celebrate culture and learn new sewing skills while taking pride in making something unique to wear.

Fresh Additions: Our New Herb Gardens

Our new herb gardens have added a fresh burst of flavour to Parry. Students and staff teamed up to design and build garden beds right outside our kitchen, making it easy to grab herbs while cooking. The space smells amazing and gives students a fun, hands-on way to grow and use their own ingredients.

New Cut Flower Beds

Our cut flower beds are a beautiful new addition to Parry, created by students and staff as our garden program continues to grow. We have been incredibly fortunate to receive generous support from Posy Farm Fresh Flowers in Inverell, who supplied us with seeds and tubers, Happy Velley Seeds and to be awarded a scholarship from Floret Flower Farm in the United States, providing us with resources and learning materials. Students love growing fresh flowers and putting them to good use in our floristry program, creating wreaths for Christmas, Anzac and Remembrance, and taking home stunning bouquets for their families. The flowers also brighten our learning spaces and shared areas, making Parry feel welcoming for students, staff and visitors.

A New Outdoor Learning Space for Duri

Our outdoor learning space project for Duri School has been our biggest and most exciting project to date. Students and staff worked together to design, cost, source and build a brand new garden space for the small primary school just outside Tamworth. Over two terms, our team travelled to Duri each week to bring the area to life, finishing the project by planting a range of native species chosen to thrive in the space. The new outdoor area is now enjoyed by Duri students and the wider community, who have been incredibly appreciative of the transformation. This project is one we are especially proud of, as it allowed our students to learn new skills, test their resilience and work together to create something meaningful that will be used for years to come.

Cooking Up Fun at Currabubula

Our students and staff had a wonderful time designing and building a brand new mud kitchen and a collection of lawn games for Currabubula Primary School. The project encouraged creativity, teamwork and problem solving as students brought the mud kitchen to life from start to finish. It was an instant hit with the Currabubula students, and their Principal joked that he wished he had three more because of how popular it was. This project gave our students a fun and rewarding way to apply their skills while creating something that brings joy to another school community.
